Performance manager

In Grieg Star, we go to work to earn money, have fun and behave properly. We are the ship management business unit of Grieg Maritime Group, a part of the Grieg Group, with a history from 1884. Grieg Star manages or acts as owner’s representative for over 30 vessels within Open Hatch and conventional bulk. All our ships trade in G2 Ocean, the world’s biggest Open Hatch shipping company, jointly owned by Gearbulk and ourselves.

Grieg Maritime Group innovates and delivers sustainability services to the maritime industry through our subsidiaries Grieg Edge and Grieg Green. Through Grieg Shipowning and Grieg Star, the group develops world-leading ship owning and ship management operations.

Want to help us perform on a world-class ship management level?

International shipping is in a historic transformation era. We are striving to make our industry carbon-neutral, and at the same time, digitising our operations. To help us succeed, we are looking to add a Performance Manager to our team in Bergen.

Two of our strategic pillars are having world-class operations and taking a leading role in the maritime green shift. To get there, we need to look at both the big picture and the details. Our new Performance Manager will help us do just that.

We expect you to be our main analyst of fleet technical performance, and you will propose and implement improvement and development measures to further develop our operations and bring us forward with regard to decarbonization and digitalization.

An important part of your job will be to optimize our working processes and the utilisation of our systems and tools, as well as bring new technology and solutions into operation. You will contribute to establishing new and future management concepts, including new technology and new vessel concepts.

As our Performance Manager, you will report directly to VP Fleet and shall cooperate with all parts of the organisation.

Our new Performance Manager has a good knowledge of the management operation of ships, rigs or similar. We prefer that you have a university degree in maritime studies, but the right experience will compensate for the lack of formal education. You have a strong understanding of digital solutions, processes, and technological innovations. You are analytical, systematic, curious, creative, and a true multidiscipline thinker, and proficient in one of the Scandinavian languages as well as English.

You will work in our headquarters in Grieg Gaarden at the waterfront of Vågen in Bergen, 5 minutes from Torvalmenningen and the fish market.
