Grieg Star manages or acts as owner’s representative for over 30 vessels within Open Hatch and conventional bulk. All our ships trade in G2 Ocean, the world’s biggest Open Hatch shipping company, jointly owned by Gearbulk and ourselves.

Grieg Maritime Group innovates and delivers sustainability services to the maritime industry through our subsidiaries Grieg Edge and Grieg Green. Through Grieg Shipowning and Grieg Star, the group develops world-leading ship owning and ship management operations.

Are you dreaming about a career in shipping?

We are looking for a talented, technically trained trainee to join us for a 24-month trainee programme, followed by a permanent position.

As a Maritime Trainee with Grieg Star, you will get the chance to work in most parts of a ship management company, but mainly within technical management and purchasing. Our goal is to give you a broad understanding of all parts of our operations. You will get your own tasks within the different departments and be a part of the team from day one. After the trainee period, you will be offered a permanent position in line with your development.

Our business is in a transformation phase, where decarbonisation and digitisation are dominating our strategies. As you will be a part of that journey, such related experience or interest will be advantageous.

We expect you to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within relevant fields of expertise, preferably from a Technical University. You have a maximum of two years of full-time working experience. You are proficient in both one of the Scandinavian languages as well as English.

As a person, you are enthusiastic, with strong motivation and interest in the shipping industry. You are analytical and structured, curious, and courageous. We expect you to contribute actively to the departments where you will work and strengthen our teams with your knowledge, attitude, and drive.

If this sounds like something you’d like to do, please submit your application by the 15th of November, including CV and grade transcripts from high school, university/college, relevant courses, etc.

You will work in our headquarters in Grieg Gaarden at the waterfront of Vågen in Bergen, 5 minutes from Torvalmenningen and the fish market.
